 2024 Q4 Projects

Editorial strategy & content calendars

To begin the year in a good way, Xposure PR assists clients by developing editorial strategies and content calendars, outlining communications goals and messages for the year. Taking yearly, quarterly and monthly views, we provide a bespoke outline of key topics and tactics, including media campaigns, thought leadership pieces, and social media days of awareness.

Sustainable Canadian gift giving ideas

Working closely with Certified B-Corp Saul Good Gift Co., the Xposure PR team pitched gift guide editors and outlets with a timely holiday gift giving story idea that focused on everything that’s amazing about gift giving: curated products that are locally sourced, sustainably packaged and uniquely Canadian.

Saul Good Gift Co. has been exclusively sourcing innovative products from local Canadian businesses since 2006 and currently works with 103 Canadian product and packaging businesses. In fact, 97% of its products are purchased from Canadian businesses.

With creative names that celebrate local Toronto neighbourhoods such as: “Salute to the Six”, “Bay Street” and “Kensington Market”, these sustainably packaged gift boxes will thrill both the giver and receiver. The team earned top placements in the National Post and mentions in the Globe and Mail.

Industry-wide transition to sustainable food

Sodexo Canada released the results of its second Sustainable Food Barometer. The latest research reveals the majority of consumers are already on this journey and expect an industry-wide, multi-strategy approach in navigating the Canadian transition to a more sustainable diet. However, two thirds continue to list price as the top hurdle to change, misbelieving that sustainable options typically cost more.

Xposure PR developed a nation-wide media campaign using Leger survey data and international comparisons, identifying current habits, perceptions, and challenges, as well as key approaches needed in continuing the collective shift towards more sustainable diets. Articles appeared in the Globe and Mail, Canadian Grocer and Food Service and Hospitality, with Op-Eds placed in the Brandon Sun.

Media training

Supporting a national Indigenous financial corporation in its desire to enhance communications capacity and media relations, Xposure PR conducted two days of media training in-person and online. Working with both junior and senior level team members, we reviewed what media need to make a great story, proactive and crisis media relations skills, and practiced with relevant and customized story scenarios.

Climate change & winter tires

When it comes to climate change, there’s no doubt that changing weather patterns are a serious concern for Canadian drivers. According to a new Leger survey for the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC), 78% of drivers now use winter tires – a 10 point increase from 2016. The study also finds that despite the increased cost of living, 83% of drivers believe winter tires are an important investment.

Xposure PR supported this national campaign earning significant coverage as winter weather arrived. The story travelled from coast to coast to coast over several weeks including on CTV and several stories in the Globe and Mail.

Volunteers harvest hope

Prior to Thanksgiving weekend, hundreds of volunteers came together to pack 500 food hampers to support over 50 organizations in the Hamilton-Halton region. Sodexo Canada Stop
Hunger Foundation, alongside Second Harvest, Good Shepherd and volunteers from over 70 companies, gathered at Tim Hortons Field to give back to communities with the goal of collecting over $300,000 of food and in-kind donations.

Xposure PR secured media attendance at the event, including CHCH Evening News. We also helped capture the day in photography with close-up and aerial drone footage. The robust media campaign included materials for partner organization sharing both internally and on social media.
